life is good

So I was sitting with one of my very best friends the other day. She was telling me about things in her life that are adding drama and some grief. Then she said, "I've been talking a lot, tell me about you, what's going on?" And it was at that moment that I realized how happy I am. I know, I know, what a random moment to realize this, but I realized that I have no drama in my life, nothing to make me sad, and not really any stress either. How many times in our lives can we say that?! I am so blessed. Don't get me wrong, I definiately have things to work on and I need to lose about 10 lbs, but overall I can't complain. And I'm no expert but I think the key to having a happy life is to live the gospel and love life.

One way I have decided to love life is to enjoy the view outside my office window. Simple. It really is probably the most beautiful view in Provo and definiately at BYU. The kicker is that there is a chance I may not have this view for long. Although that thought makes me very sad, I have just realized that now more than ever I need to enjoy it.

So that's my message. My mother taught me a great lesson growing up: If you find it hard to love life, start off by thinking of three good things that happened to you today. When you get home, ask your spouse, or yourself three good things for that day.

Today: Brady suprised me with a picnic lunch, the crisp autumn weather, and...tomorrow is Friday! See...its that easy:)
