Summit Entertainment has announced that Edward will be played by Robert Pattinson. He is most famous for his role in Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory.
Bella Swan is being played by Kristen Stewart.
Am I pleased by this?
I'm not sure. I think they both have potential. It would be impossible to cast a perfect Edward. I just don't know. I need to sleep on it.

Rach- Thanks for the Twighlight update. I can see her as Bella but I'm having a harder time seeing him as Edward. That's awesome Carly had her baby! Did everything go well? PS- Ofcourse you are going to get an invite silly.
Bless you for being as concerned about this as I am. I've never seen any movies that they're in, so I'm kinda excited about it.
I am encouraged by what Stephenie Meyer has said about him- he apparently was amazing during the tryout readings, and has amazing chemistry with Kristen Stewart, AND he has read all 3 books. And his American accent is flawless (he is British). I'm going to be optimistic, and I think he'll do a good job. Although like we have talked about, he's not amazingly gorgeous/hot like Edward should be, but he's not bad either. And I'm not a big fan of Kristen Stewart, but there again I'm trying to be optimistic and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Now we'll see if they can actually get this movie out by Dec. '08....that's pretty aggressive. We'll see....
I don't think I like him, but maybe he will look different and all clean shaven for the part of Edward. I don't know... I just don't know.
