One year young!

Natalie is a year old!!! We had a great birthday party for her with only a few mishaps. I decided that I wanted to be creative, and although she won't remember it, I wanted to try and make her first birthday special. It was a lot of work, but I think it was fun and she was so dang cute.

Here is mom and dad's dining room. I made a felt garland and we blew up lots of balloons. We also covered the table in freezer paper and set out crayons so that we could draw. Some fun ideas, but I think it would be funner in a couple years when she can draw with us :)

Here is Natalie's princess crown that mom and I made for her. I found the idea online but I added to it and embellished it. I thought it turned out cute and she actually wore it for a few minutes :)
Spaghetti....yum...

Why does she always make this face!? I just want to squeeze her!

Family picture.

Chocolate cake! The cake was quite the ordeal, but Brady ended up making it work and doing an awesome job! A monkey cake for our little bug.

Natalie trying to attack her cake while we're singing happy birthday!

Ok, here is one of the mishaps. We had spaghetti for dinner and after dinner natalie was just coughing and sneezing and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. So Brady took her and got her cleaned up and then she sneezed and had a little piece of a noodle come out of her nose, so he pulled it and this 3-4 inch noodle came out!!!! It was hilarious! She felt much better after that.

Natalie and grandpa.

Here is a picture I just love of my sweet one year old. She is such a joy to have around and we love her so much!! Her favorite things are...
- growling (a new development! so funny)
- music is still #1. She loves the piano and she dances to just about any beat...even if its the phone or the washing machine!
- her little dog that we got from a happy meal. It is an ugly little thing, but she carries it around as a prized possession.
- her 'friend' (aka blue-greenish soothie pacifier from the hospital)
- going up and down stairs...joy.

We love you Natalie!!!!

Here is the other mishap.... enjoy!

One of these days this child will stop spitting up!

This final clip is just a typical Natalie/Daddy thing. Brady teases natalie by making noises she can't do, and eventually she figures it out.

You really outdid yourself girl....the decorations were really cute, her little princess hat turned out SO cute, and Brady apparently needs to turn over a new leaf and become a cake decorator because the cake looks fantastic! :) That video is priceless-- so perfect, so Natalie. Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you. Man, I suck....poor Penny, don't tell her she got "jipped" for her birthday, 'cause I didn't do nearly that much. Miss you guys-- give Natalie a squeeze and kiss for me. No kiss for Brady, but you can give him a high-five for a job well done on the cake.

I think that has to be the best decorated first year birthday party I've ever seen! It all turned out so cute! And Natalie is just growing up so much, I wished we lived closer. Hopefully we'll be able to see you guys a good chunk this summer. I'm impressed with the monkey cake, very cute! Kimi was very sad when I told her we couldn't go to Natalie's birthday party. And that spaghetti noodle is so gross, I probably would have lost my dinner...it makes my nose itch and gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! And that video of her spitting up right then? hilarious. I guess it was good it didn't scare her! Some kids in Mike's family are terrified of balloons.

Um ok...I hope you're planning on using that hat for more than just her first birthday. Make her wear it every birthday haha it's way too cute to only use once. And I can't believe you got everyone to help as much as they did. The house looks great! :)
